Wooroloo Community & Voluntary Work

Wooroloo Prison Farm has a team of carefully selected prisoners working on community projects throughout the district.

This work contributes to community facilities and helps prisoners to repay society for their offending.

Recent projects undertaken by Wooroloo Prison Farm's prisoners include:

  • Clean Up Australian Day activity in the district;
  • grounds and building maintenance at York Beverley Turf Club;
  • after hours maintenance of grounds and outdoor play equipment at Baker's Hill Primary School; and
  • environmental improvement and landscaping at Lake Leschenaultia.

The work is part of a Statewide prisoner community work program. Each year, prisoners around WA complete work in their local areas valued at $4 million per year.
