The Department offers mediation between victims and offenders through the Victim-offender Mediation Unit.
All Victim-offender Mediation Unit mediation is impartial and entered into voluntarily by both parties.
The Department also maintains a Victim Notification Register established for victims of crime.
The register allows victims to receive information about the perpetrator of the crime against them - for as long as that person is under the supervision of the Department of Corrective Services.
Victim support services are also provided by the Department of the Attorney General.
