One of the Department's seven work camps may be able to assist not-for-profit organisations with community projects.
Work camps give low-risk, minimum security prisoners the opportunity to do meaningful work that benefits the community. They also provide employment skills, which can help reduce prisoner re-offending when released from custody.
Work camps are a valuable resource to regional communities where there is a shortage of volunteer labour.
Last year, the seven work camps operating in WA contributed nearly $1m worth of reparation to the community.
To discuss your community project, or for more information, contact the Manager Work Camps, on (08) 9264 1951.
