Karnet Community & Voluntary Work

Karnet Prison Farm has a team of carefully selected prisoners working, under supervision of a prison officer, on community projects throughout the district.

This work contributes to community facilities and helps prisoners to repay society for their offending.

Recent projects undertaken by Karnet Prison Farm prisoners include:

  • constructing shelters and clearing the Munda Biddi Trail;
  • maintaining the yard at Mimsbrook Farm Community Supported Agriculture Inc;
  • constructing and maintaining the Bibblelman Track; and
  • constructing and clearing the track of the Heritage Park at Jarrahdale.

The work is part of a State-wide prisoner community work program. Each year, prisoners around WA complete work in their local areas valued at $4 million per year.
