Department of Corrective Services

The Department acknowledges and respects Aboriginal history and culture and has officially restated its commitment to Aboriginal people in its Statement of Reconciliation, which can be downloaded below.

The Aboriginal Policy and Services directorate enhances services to Aboriginal people by ensuring Department of Corrective Services’ policies and practices provide:

• equity of access to services and
• a responsive approach to meeting the needs of Aboriginal people.

Following the separation of the Department of Justice, the directorate operates from the Department of the Attorney General. It provides a range of services including policy analysis and advice, planning and coordination, monitoring and community consultation.
